Hiking the River Esk

The trail head for our hike today started in the small town of Edzell.
Edzell is a 20 minute drive from our Hobbit House.

The entry gate to the town.....Wow!  Impressive right?
Stone walls and churches are endemic to this area.

(Note: While I am on holiday in Scotland I have 400 vocabulary words to study for the MAT exam.
So....I am going to embellish my blog and practice using some of these words.)

Example: Endemic-prevailing in a specific area; indigenous, local, native

Town Hall

The River Esk
This crumbling building is an enigma. We don't know what it was used for or how old it is but it
 was interesting to walk through.

The Door

Blue sky....and then it rained....and then wind came up.....and then the sun came out again.

The hiking trail started at the Edzell post office.

And after the hike.....ice cream!
