Half & Half

I am not really a country girl but growing up in Idaho I saw my share of cattle. However, I have never seen this kind of cow...notice the perfect stripe around their bellies.

Tim thinks he is very clever and said they produce Half & Half !

Our last day in the Hobbit House

Wow! Where did the time go?
We will say good bye to our cozy Hobbit House early tomorrow morning and make the 6 hour drive south to the Port of Hull.  Our ferry leaves about 6:30 tomorrow evening for the overnight cruise to Belgium. We will miss the little village of Alyth....

View of the park from our front door

The church steeple and the hill of Alyth

The Alyth bakery-great scones and gingerbread

Our coffee shop-great coffee (of course it's a coffee shop) and pancakes

The Alyth Hotel - great steak and prawns dinner!

The McManus Art Museum

We visited an art gallery and a jute mill exhibition in Dundee today.

It took us a long time to find the "entrance" to this building but the walk around the building was worth the time.

Part of the art museum....love these stairs

I was so engrossed in the art gallery that I only took one photo.
This light fixture is made out of plastic bottles.  Great way to "reuse"!

Castles, castles, castles......

We just returned to our hobbit house after a three day excursion to the west coast of Scotland. We saw many many castles on our drive. We saw an Inn called the "castle stalkers" and we decided that must be us this week.

This is actually a hotel...but it looks like a castle.

Don't know the name of this one....we just happened past it on our drive

The tide was out so we could walk right onto the tiny island that surrounded the castle.

Ah....One can never see too many 14th century castles! I think this is Ardtornish Castle....honestly I lost track of the castle names...there are so many of them!

It's lambing time in the Highlands.....they are sooooo cute!

We hiked about 12 miles today. We walked past 4 lochs (lakes) and enjoyed a very nice sunny day. These are sights from our hike.
